The Grafted Tree

"If the root is holy, so are the branches. . . . some of the branches were broken off, and you, a wild olive shoot, were grafted in their place to share the richness of the olive tree."  --Romans 11:16, 17

Jehovah brought the story of His purpose for salvation through a nation of people, the Israelites. Jesus' ministry was preached exclusively to the people of the first-century Jewish nation. After his death and resurrection and enthronement at the right hand of His Father, an apostle was raised to carry the message of salvation to the Gentiles. This would fulfill God's promise to Abraham that through his seed
all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him." --Genesis 18:18 and 22:18; Acts 3:25

In order to understand the Bible and the teachings of Jesus and the Apostles, it is necessary to study the culture, history, archaeology, language, and theology of the Israelite people in the context of their Jewish culture which is our Christian heritage. Understanding the Jewishness of Jesus (Yeshua) and his contemporaries brings deeper understanding of our Judeo-Christian faith. The following links provide invaluable learning and insight into our Judeao-Christian heritage.
